Operations Research and Optimization Expert
With a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science, followed by a master's degree in computer science, Kim strengthened her academic skills with a certificate in statistics. Passionate about research and innovation, she worked as a research professional at Polytechnique, where she developed models for generating operating room schedules.
Her career then led her to the video game industry, where she spent over three years at Gearbox as a Tools Programmer. She played a key role in creating software tools designed to optimize and automate repetitive tasks for artists, thereby contributing to better time and resource management within development teams.
Her career demonstrates her technical expertise and her ability to use mathematics, computer science, and statistics to solve complex problems and provide practical solutions in various sectors.
Kim has also been teaching at Université Laval since 2019. She teaches courses in algorithm design and analysis, algorithms and data structures, and mathematics for computer science students. Her ability to combine theory and practice enriches the learning experience, and she is valued for her dynamic teaching approach and her commitment to her students' success.
On a personal note, Kim is passionate about hockey, especially the Professional Women's Hockey League. She plays the sport several times a week.
