Julien Lafrance

Julien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and a Research Master’s in Computer Science, during which he developed expertise in software architecture, AI, and algorithmic ethics. Passionate about knowledge sharing, he has been deeply involved as a lab and teaching assistant, while also serving as a mentor for academic projects. Alongside his studies, he consolidated his technical skills through several internships, allowing him to blend academic rigour with real-world experience.

These experiences have shaped his vision: to innovate, but above all, to put his skills at the service of the common good. For Julien, artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that must be deployed with discernment to amplify human creativity and strengthen communities, never to weaken them. This conviction naturally led him to the mission and cooperative values of Baseline.

Curious and versatile, Julien spends his free time between volleyball, cooking and baking, video games, and reading. An avid traveller, he enjoys discovering new cultures, forgotten stories, and—most importantly—new recipes to share upon his return.
